Our September Monthly Meeting will feature Annette Ramirez and Joshua Martin.
Annette Ramirez is our Democratic candidate for Harris County Tax Assessor Collector. She is first generation Mexican American and Texan who began her career working in logistics and operations for oil and gas tankers but pivoted to a career in the law while she began her family. She has worked in the legal department for Aldine Independent School District for over 20 years. She currently serves as Assistant General Counsel overseeing the District’s in-house property tax collection, litigation, and real estate matters. Ramirez is a proactive, innovative leader, demonstrating her ability to update technology and transform systems on time and under budget.
Joshua Martin is a community organizer from Houston, TX. A rising senior at the University of Houston, Martin served as the institutions 59th Student Body President and the first freshman to ever assume the role. Josh served as the President of the Black Student Union and is the current Leader of #ForTheStudents, and the National Political Director of the College Democrats of America.
We will meet in Pecore Hall, the building south of the church, where there’s plenty of parking as well. Refreshments will start at 6pm, with the Meeting commencing at 6:30pm.
